Passing matric opens many doors, but for those who are unsuccessful there are ways of studying to increase your work options.
“Learners who failed last year or failed in the past may find this time of the year hits a sore spot. [But] you can still take the next steps to advance your career,” says Eloise Nolte, MD of Optimi College.
She advises:
IT engineering and software development remain dome of the most in-demand skills globally, and there are courses that do not require a matric;
You can study a national certificate in bookkeeping with a grade 10 certificate. This will also allow you to provide accounting services to small businesses and work in larger firm’ finance departments;
You need a grade 10 certificate to enroll for a human resource administration certificate;
You can also complete short courses that will fill your CV – many do not require a matric certificate; and
Search online for colleges registered with department of higher education & training that offer these and other qualifications that can set you on your career path.
