Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or Related Field
- Master’s in Business Administration or related management qualification preferred
- At least 3 year’s clinical and/or healthcare experience in a private Hospital environment or at least 5 year’s sales experience at a senior management level
- Demonstrated experience in business development, ideally in the healthcare industry
- High level of commercial awareness within the healthcare environment
- Computer literacy with demonstrated ability in generic computer packages such as Microsoft Office and the effective use of social media
- Exceptional leadership skills
The main purpose of this position:
The Business Development Manager is responsible for identifying, developing and implementing short- and long-term strategic business initiatives and relationships to support the overall growth strategy of the company, to improve the company’s market position and to maximise and grow bottom line revenue
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Develops short and long-term strategic relationships with healthcare professional associations and organisations for identifying, attracting and expanding the professional base of the company which is consistent with the strategic objectives of the group and individual hospitals
- Conducts research within the context of community needs and business requirements in respect of hospital facilities to ensure that hospitals maintain competitive in the marketplace
- Proposes potential business arrangements/deals by analysing market strategies, requirements, capabilities and financial statements
- Evaluates options and makes recommendations
- Negotiate contracts
- Leverages relationship networks and partnerships with various government entities and relevant stakeholders to gain influence and support for business initiatives
- Drive new business development
- To increase patient referrals
- Coordinate network events between referring practitioner and accepting practitioner
