- Grade 12 or equivalent NQF Level 4 Qualification
- Previous work experience in a hospital environment will be beneficial

The main purpose of this position:
The CSSD technician’s role is to assist the multi-disciplinary theatre team to provide exemplary care in the CSSD by cleaning, sterilising and packing theatre instruments
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Fold and Pack linen in the correct manner for sterilisation
- Wash and care for instruments according to the correct procedure
- Pack instrument sets and loose articles in the prescribed manner for sterilisation
- Ensure that all required instruments for procedures are sterile and ready for utilisation
- Checking functioning of sterilizing and decontamination equipment according to manufactures instructions
- Prepare self, equipment and materials safely for the tasks to be undertaken
- Undertake tasks as delegated and taught for that specific case working within level of competence
- Monitor repairs of instruments
