Requirements:
- Registered Nurse Qualification
- Compliance with SANC code for a Registered Nurse and all applicable health care legislation
- 5 years’ experience as a Registered Nurse
- Post basic qualification in Operating Room essential
- Post basic qualification or busy studying Management will serve as a recommendation
- 2-3 years Management experience essential
- Proven leadership skills – leading by example – team builder
- Outstanding interpersonal and excellent communication skills
- Fluency in English and another language (fully bilingual)
- Computer literate
- Good work management: planning, organising, and coordinating skills
- High energy levels / tolerance of stress / assertiveness
- Quality patient care orientation
The main purpose of this position:
The Deputy Nursing Service Manager will also be responsible for monitoring and ensuring that quality nursing care and service delivery is implemented and practiced within a multi-disciplinary team
In accordance, the Deputy Nursing Service Manager will be accountable and responsible for coordinating capacity building, mentoring, coaching, training, and development in the Unit
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Organising and co-ordination of staff and patient care
- Personnel management in Theatre (orientation, evaluation, remedial training, motivation, etc.)
- Liaise with other members of the multi-disciplinary team
- Support in terms of training and development of nursing staff
- Evaluate the patient’s journey via patient experience and stakeholder contribution
- Evaluate and monitor nursing quality indicators and clinical outcomes
- Promote health and wellbeing of patients and employees
- Ensure the principles of infection prevention and all international standard precautions are adhered to
- Implement group quality initiatives
- Liaise with public liability regarding all incidents of potential risk to the business
- Finances: budget control, create input to better the service and promote productivity through teamwork
- Drive stock and expense efficiency
- Participate in the commissioning of the Cardiac Unit in 2025
- Building sound relationships with Stakeholders
