Requirements:

• Grade 12 ( Matric)
• Tertiary or Business Management Qualification essential
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Minimum of 5 years’ management experience in a corporate retail environment involving meat and perishable foods
• Management experience
• Excellent Planning and Organizational skills
• Drivers license and own transport

The main purpose of this position:

The General Manager position is to oversee the daily operations and production of the facility. This is an excellent opportunity for a management candidate within the perishable food sector, to a join dynamic team and become part of this rapidly growing company. The position is ideally suited to a manager within the perishable food and meat division of a corporate retailer with excellent understanding of all aspects of the meat industry as a whole.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Overseeing the production process by being instrumental in the daily planning and production process
• Overseeing the quality of the products put to market
• Handling and overseeing the raw materials required to produce the variety of meat products
• Developing and implementing  standard operating procedures to ensure the quality and variety of products are held to the highest standard
• Handling the staff and HR related matters, while maintaining the work roster and leave rosters
• Handle all reporting required by  the MD of the meat facility
• Ensure that the company strategy is rolled out effectively and that targets are met
• Develop new business leads and build relationships with suppliers and clients alike
• Develop and implement the budgets associated with a meat  production facility
• Ability to implement and develop best in class operating procedures and systems
• Ability to work under pressure and meet targets and deadlines
• Ensure and upholding high standard of quality of work
