- Minimum of 5 years’ management experience in a corporate retail environment involving meat and perishable foods

The main purpose of this position:
The General Manager position is to oversee the daily operations and production of the facility. This is an excellent opportunity for a management candidate within the perishable food sector, to a join dynamic team and become part of this rapidly growing company. The position is ideally suited to a manager within the perishable food and meat division of a corporate retailer with excellent understanding of all aspects of the meat industry as a whole.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Overseeing the production process by being instrumental in the daily planning and production process
- Overseeing the quality of the products put to market
- Handling and overseeing the raw materials required to produce the variety of meat products
- Developing and implementing standard operating procedures to ensure the quality and variety of products are held to the highest standard
- Handling the staff and HR related matters, while maintaining the work roster and leave rosters
- Handle all reporting required by the MD of the meat facility
- Ensure that the company strategy is rolled out effectively and that targets are met
- Develop new business leads and build relationships with suppliers and clients alike
- Develop and implement the budgets associated with a meat production facility
- Ability to implement and develop best in class operating procedures and systems
- Ability to work under pressure and meet targets and deadlines
- Ensure and upholding high standard of quality of work
