Requirements:

• Grade 12 or equivalent NQF Level Qualification, with a Trade Test in Mechanical Engineering at minimum N2 level
• Three years post qualification experience in a mechanical environment, including but not limited to air-conditioning, welding, fitting and turning and boilers/geysers
• Knowledge and understanding of the Occupational Health and Safety regulations
• Hospital experience would be advantageous
• Driver’s license is essential
• Own transport is essential

The main purpose of this position:

The Mechanical Artisan will be responsible for the installation, repairs & maintenance of HVAC, and mechanical plant & equipment on site, and perform general building maintenance tasks

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Responsible for installation, maintenance and repairs of HVAC equipment
• Responsible for maintenance and repairs of mechanical plant & equipment on site
• Supervision of contractors
• Commissioning of equipment
• Perform routine checks on plant & equipment e.g., daily, weekly, and monthly
• Ensure proper & compliant routine maintenance is performed
• Reporting on the condition and functionality of the plant and machinery
• Perform general building maintenance tasks throughout the facilities
• Practice good housekeeping
• Work on standby
• Work on weekends if required
