Job Overview
Requirements:
- MBChB/MBBCh or equivalent Degree
- Registration with HPCSA as a medical practitioner in Independent Practice
- 5 Years post registration in Independent Practice with the HPCSA
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Medical Officer in a health facility after Community Service
- Sound knowledge of Medical Ethics
- Sound clinical knowledge with regards to the practice of medicine as a general practitioner
- A Certificate qualification in all or any of the following, ACLS, APLS or ATLS will be an added advantage

The main purpose of this position:
To support hospital management and the clinical team in providing quality health and maintaining high care standards in the facility
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Contribute to efficient hospital management by providing medical and clinical advisory services
- Build working relationships across teams and functional lines to enhance work delivery
- Show up as a team player and contribute to building and maintaining a capable and high maintaining team
- Manage the financial integrity of area of responsibility
- Manage reporting, risk and governance
- Provide support to Hospital management to ensure efficient standard of patient care and services is maintained
- Support the aims and objectives of client with regards to standard of patient care
- Management of patients admitted in wards on behalf of the admitting specialist including ICU and assisting surgeons in theatre and doing calls in Emergency Unit/ Casualty when required
- Ensure the safe, efficient, and effective delivery of medical services
- Ability to deal with all medical emergencies
- Assist with Clinical audits
- Participate in continuous professional development
- Develop and maintain effective communication with specialists in the hospital
